Project Engineer/Manager - Capital Projects
About The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated, experienced and capable Project Manager to join our client’s project team. This position is a site based role on a 4/3 or 8/6 FIFO roster.
The main focus of the role will be delivering a variety of capital projects and maintenance activities. The incumbent will liaise closely with on-site operational teams, contractors and subject matter experts throughout the business to scope and execute projects.
This role requires an experienced and motivated individual that can work with a high level of autonomy and has capability through the full range of projects from business case studies and scope development, through to execution including the management of engineering and construction contractors.
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering or similar
- Demonstrated mining industry experience, predominantly in projects and with significant exposure to site construction, operations and maintenance projects
- Strong project team management of third-party vendors, consultants and contractors
- Self-motivated and has the ability to work with a high level of autonomy
- Sound understanding of studies, including project business case and scope development
- Sound understanding of project, engineering and construction management
- Sound understanding of project controls (estimating, scheduling and cost control) and project reporting
Essential Qualifications:
- At least 10 years project management experience in mining or related industry
- Experience in the supervision of personnel, contractors and other personnel
- Experience with environmental and regulatory approvals
- Excellent computing skills
- Current Driver’s License
- Experience in project management and management of budgets
