Mental Health Social Worker – Community Mental Health (Port Lincoln, South Australia)

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Social Worker to become a valuable member of our Community Mental Health team located in the beautiful coastal town of Port Lincoln, South Australia. Our team provides essential acute care and crisis services to mental health clients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and support.
About the Role:
You will have the chance to work as part of the triage mental health team or manage your own caseload, delivering specialist mental health interventions within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
This role involves community engagement through outreach and home visits using fleet care, as well as face-to-face interactions within the service. You will handle comprehensive case management, including full case management clients, triage, escalations, and acute crisis management. Responsibilities include developing management plans, administering medication, conducting thorough mental health assessments, and providing holistic, collaborative care and discharge planning.

Requirements:
AASW accreditation as an MAASW or AMHSW is highly desirable and will be highly regarded.
Accredited Mental Health Social Workers with AASW accreditation as an MAASW/AMHSW are highly desirable.
A postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Social Work (or willingness to enrol, with study support provided).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Mental Health community and/or in-patient acute settings, demonstrating skills in:
Comprehensive mental health assessments.
Risk assessment and safety planning.
Crisis management and triage.
Collaborative care, case management, and discharge planning.
Effective communication and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Compliance Requirements:
National Police Certificate, Working with Children Check, and NDIS Workers Screening Check (or ability to obtain).
Relevant vaccination and immunisation compliance.
Valid Driver’s License.
