We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team in Rockhampton. If you have a passion for mechanical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Overhaul and repair various makes and types of gearbox and power transmission equipment.
- Strip, clean, inspect, and repair industrial power transmission equipment with minimal supervision.
- Establish root causes of equipment issues to enhance reliability and performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
- Engage in occasional travel and site work as required.
- Participate in ongoing learning and development, including OEM training.
Mandatory Skills:
- Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter with Australian qualifications.
- Safety-conscious with a thorough understanding of and compliance with work safety standards.
- Strong technical ability to read engineering drawings and utilize workshop measuring equipment.
- Results-driven attitude with excellent workload management skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Dedicated, reliable, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience with wind turbines is advantageous.
- Ability to mentor trainees and apprentices.
- Experience in gearbox testing.
- High-risk work licenses (FLT, Dogging, and Rigging) preferred; training will be provided where necessary.
