Position: Mechanical Fitter
Location: Cairns, Queensland
Type: Full-time hours, Labour hire, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance, repairs, and installations on mechanical equipment and machinery aboard ships and vessels.
- Perform inspections and troubleshooting tasks to diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment.
- Complete documentation and reports related to maintenance activities.
Requirements:
- Australian Citizen
- Australian Trade Qualification as a mechanical fitter, preferably in the shipping or maritime industry.
- Hold valid high-risk licenses for working at heights, confined spaces, and elevated work platforms.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Trade qualification or relevant certification in mechanical fitting.
