About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and analytical professional to join our Strategy and Planning team as a Manager, Strategy and Reporting. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of Victoria’s largest road transport project by providing expert policy and strategic advice, supporting STC-led initiatives, and overseeing corporate reporting and planning processes.
We are looking for candidates with a consulting background who excel at leveraging data, evidence, and insights to drive strategy and inform decision-making. The ability to develop strong working relationships with Ministers and key government stakeholders is essential to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
...- Provide expert strategic and economic advice to the Strategy Director and Executive Leadership Team, ensuring STC's operations align with its commercial and policy objectives.
- Identify and assess opportunities to leverage STC’s capabilities to create additional value for shareholders.
- Lead the development and coordination of STC’s annual corporate and business planning processes, including ministerial and board approvals.
- Manage the procurement and engagement of external advisers to support strategic projects and initiatives.
- Develop high-quality reports and materials that clearly articulate STC’s priorities to external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships across government agencies, including the Department of Transport and Planning and the Department of Treasury and Finance.
Desirables
- Consulting experience with a demonstrated ability to apply structured problem-solving techniques and data-driven insights in a complex policy and commercial environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing and collaborating with senior government officials, Ministers, and external advisors.
- Proven ability to synthesise diverse perspectives and communicate complex principles effectively to a range of audiences.
- Experience with corporate planning, policy development, and public sector decision-making processes.
- Familiarity with transport infrastructure projects, tolling operations, or public-private partnerships is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Significant, relevant work experience in strategy, policy, consulting, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with data interpretation and financial or economic modeling.
