Are you passionate about enhancing the lives of others? We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Lifestyle Coordinator to join the team at an Medium size residential aged care home in Cairns. In this full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
About the Role
As the Lifestyle Coordinator, your primary goal will be to empower residents by helping them make choices that maximise their participation in leisure activities tailored to their individual needs while preserving their dignity. You will design, implement, and evaluate both individual and group lifestyle and recreational programs to support and enhance the social, emotional, spiritual, cultural, cognitive, and physical well-being of each resident.
In addition to coordinating these activities, you will lead a team of two Lifestyle Service Assistants and oversee volunteers who assist with pastoral care. You will be responsible for recruitment, training, and coordinating volunteers to help provide a holistic approach to care.

... Plan, implement, and evaluate a range of individual and group programs that focus on physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Empower residents to make informed choices about their participation in leisure activities.
Lead and support the Lifestyle Service Assistants, ensuring they have the guidance and resources to deliver quality programs.
Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support pastoral care and other lifestyle initiatives.
Ensure that lifestyle programs are linked with the community, including interactions with children, hobbies, and local flora and fauna.
Maintain appropriate and timely documentation that meets regulatory standards.
Work in collaboration with the wider care team to provide relevant information for residents' care planning.
Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages active participation from residents.
Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and feedback, and provide regular reports to management.

Requirements:
Valid Australia Police Check or NDIS Clearance.
At least 12 months of experience in a similar role within the aged care sector.
Experience in leading teams and working with volunteers.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A creative and proactive approach to developing engaging activities.
Genuine empathy, patience, and dedication to enhancing the lives of elderly residents.
Ability to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation standards.
