• Builds an upon existing Azure Synapse data lake solution
• Interacts effectively with data stored in an AWS Redshift instance
• Interacts with and extracts relevant information from the department’s database
• Supports PowerApps forms for collecting and collating information obtained through desk research, and associated metadata
• Integrates data obtained from multiple sources to present a coherent set of information that can be served to applications that allow information to be interrogated to provide insights.
• Develop and implement data models based on Kimball principles that conform data across multiple sources.
• Identify, design and implement process improvements, automate manual processes, optimise data delivery ETL, and re-design Azure services for scalability.
• Work collaboratively with other project team members, including Business Analyst, Power Apps Developer, as well as other department staff.

• Experience in Azure data solutions.
• Detailed understanding of Kimball data modelling, and data warehousing.
• Strong data engineering and database development skills, evidenced by successful relevant projects.
• Strong SQL skills along with R and/or Python data wrangling and programming skills.
• Understanding of data governance principles and tools.
• Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality tools and processes.
• Experience in Agile ways of working and using Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
• Successful completion of a criminal history and employment check (these will be completed as part of the recruitment process).
• Experience in working in a government department would be an advantage, but is not a requirement.
