This role would suit someone with farm or abattoir experience as the environment is smelly and they tend to adapt well to the work environment.
This role has great progression and training opportunities within a long standing team for a National client of ours. This client has many sites in Western Sydney that perform similar work tasks or operations.
This is a hands-on, physical role where you’ll be involved in various tasks, including:
- Using machinery to handle and process food waste, including loading material using hoses or shovels into blenders
- Supervising incoming drivers, weighing trucks in & out, overseeing tipping of waste materials into bays and directing traffic
- Operating computers to manage the starter system, track changes, monitor gas levels and perform preliminary troubleshooting
- Communicating with the team via 2-way radio to provide safety updates and coordinate tasks
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment, including hosing down external areas
- Collecting waste samples in test tubes, minor PH testing and assisting with waste tracking
- Sweeping and general site maintenance to keep work areas safe and clean
The right person for this role will have:
- Computer literacy – ability to operate basic systems and track changes
- Strong communication skills for 2-way radio updates and weighbridge coordination
- General labourers, lifting 15kg-20kg, with a great attitude – willing to train and progress into higher roles
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Must be open to weekends & public holidays (double time & a half)
Ideally but not required you will also have:
- Recommended vaccinations: Tetanus, Hepatitis A & B
- Preferred (but not mandatory) tickets: loader/operator, working at heights, telehandler, confined space
- Forklift ticket is desirable but not required
Fixed shifts – Plenty of overtime available on every shift
- Mornings: 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Afternoons: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Nights: 6:30 PM – 4:00 AM (Overtime available every shift)
Pay Rate: $36.39 per hour (L4 Waste Award)
