Position Purpose:
This role requires a highly motivated and results-oriented Key Account Manager to identify new leads, win new business, and manage existing customer relationships. You will leverage innovative thinking to source new customers and markets for this indsutry leading building supplier, ensuring exceptional customer service and maximizing sales.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Develop strong relationships with supplier and customer networks.
- Handle routine customer queries and complaints promptly and effectively.
- Capitalize on sales opportunities via existing channels and source new opportunities.
- Manage existing customer relationships, ensuring their needs are consistently met.
- Consistently secure new customers and business opportunities.
- Negotiate prices and create quotes using established price lists and guidelines.
- Collaborate with site teams to maintain high product presentation standards.
- Liaise with suppliers and site teams to develop and implement promotional ideas.
- Ensure price integrity for all items.
- Monitor competition and recommend strategies to manage local competition.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated negotiation and sales abilities.
- Intermediate planning and organizational skills.
- Positive "can-do" attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Previous trade experience and a relevant trade qualification are preferred.
Key Competencies:
- Extensive product category and industry knowledge to provide expert advice and service.
- Exceptional customer focus and responsiveness to customer needs.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers (internal & external) and suppliers.
- Collaboration with team members and support in their development.
- Strong understanding of supplier offerings and customer requirements.
