The Role
The role will be responsible for working across the breadth of the department’s service management capabilities, providing critical assessment, guidance, and expertise, whilst ensuring that agreed service levels, security requirements and other quality standards are met.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming our ITSM services and practices, through oversight and governance on the implementation of new ITSM tools, uplifting processes, and delivering exceptional value to the Department. Candidates will use appropriate management techniques, collaboration, leadership, and governance to deliver high quality outcomes for the Department.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 5 years IT service management and/or service delivery experience, with a focus on process optimisation, transformation, risk management and organisational change management.
- Strong understanding of IT Service Management and the ITIL Service Lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to lead transformation initiatives, managing technical and project delivery teams.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work with a high level of autonomy.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to align business and technical objectives, drive process improvement and optimise service delivery.
- Strong relationship management skills which can be applied to multiple stakeholder groups across various levels and business units to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple and complex issues working through competing priorities.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Must hold a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance.
- Qualification and/or accreditation in service management, project management, quality management, systems, tools, frameworks, and standards (i.e., ITIL, ISO20000, PMBOK, Prince2, COBIT, etc).
Desirable criteria
- IT Project Management experience, including working knowledge in project management systems and tools (e.g. DevOps, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project) is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a complex global ICT environment across hybrid and geographically dispersed teams to deliver on business and broader departmental requirements.
- Experience with BMC Remedy and/or Helix would be advantageous.
- Experience with Federal Government ICT implementations would be advantageous.
