Randstad are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory and Materials Specialist to join our mining client’s team in Adelaide. This role will ensure accurate, comprehensive, and readily accessible data is available for managing inventory, sourcing parts and supporting smooth mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse supplier quotes for clarity and completeness. This includes detailed item descriptions, model numbers, part numbers, drawings, or any other relevant information
- Ensure accurate and detailed information is identified and captured
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain detailed parts breakdowns and technical specifications, working closely to ensure comprehensive and accurate data entry
- Compare information against existing company database or industry standards to identify potential inconsistencies or discrepancies
- Data validation to ensure it meets and is consistent with company standards
- Understanding of specific items and their function within the larger equipment and its potential interchangeability with other parts
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in an inventory or materials focussed role, is ideal, but not essential
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize quotes to identify and categorize componentry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on building and maintaining relationships
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working with various software applications.
