This organisation is a global leader in systems automation and logistics. The business works closely with its clients to fully customise their service offering. The organisation operates across the globe and views Australia as a relatively new and exciting market.
The organisation is about to enter into a review of their enterprise agreement and are looking for a contractor to work with them to manage the process from end to end. The role will lead enterprise agreement (EA) negotiations in Queensland and may be offered the opportunity to deal with future processes interstate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with the business to understand current agreements and the IR landscape.
- Access financial data, industry benchmarks, CPI and workforce needs and build a structure / strategy prior to negotiations.
- Work with business leaders to prepare for negotiations.
- Develop and implement strategic and operational industrial relations strategies, fostering strong relationships with unions and key stakeholders while leading EA negotiations.
- Advise division managers and steering committee on workforce and recruitment planning, ensuring alignment with current and future workforce needs , and legislative requirements for permanent, contract, and other labour.
- Provide expert guidance on HR and employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, grievance management, performance and disciplinary processes, recruitment, remuneration, learning and development, policy interpretation, and terminations.
- Prepare reports for executive management, the board of directors, employees, and government agencies. Manage voting and lodging with FWC.
- Collaborate on the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and ensure implementation and compliance following EBA approval.
About You
The ideal candidate is an experienced IR practitioner with strengths in workplace relations and a strong ability to navigate complex industrial relations challenges.
Key Experience & Skills:
- Extensive experience in workplace relations, with in-depth knowledge of industrial relations legislation and frameworks.
- Proven expertise in managing and resolving complex employee relations issues within a unionised, operational environment, including leading enterprise agreement negotiations.
- Strong experience in resolving workplace disputes with employees and unions, including advocacy at the Fair Work Commission.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, respond to urgent matters swiftly, and deliver results under pressure.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business / law or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in HR or IR within a blue / white collar environment
- Strong understanding of the Fair Work Australia system, particularly in unionised industries.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
