About the Role
Seeking a skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join the companies Operations and Maintenance Team on a newly installed 250mw Battery facility in Adelaide. This is a full time, short-term 1 to 3 month assignment that has the potential to evolve into a permanent opportunity. The role is safety focused however electrical knowledge would be advantageous. Responsible for conducting inspections, audits, documentation, reporting and risk assessments, providing guidance, training to employees and assisting the Facility Maintenance Superintendent to achieve a high standard to meet owners’ requirements. The successful candidate must possess good communication skills and be conversant with promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Periodic review of Safety Management Plans.
- Conduct regular inspections and site audits to identify potential EHS risks and hazards, report them and support corrective action planning
- Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health & safety and environmental standards and regulations.
- Conduct OHS incident investigations and Complete incident reports.
- Coordinate and assist with emergency procedures and periodic emergency drills
- Conduct facility inductions.
- Complete HSE monthly reporting to support.
- Assist Site Superintendent to meet client HSE KPI requirements.
- Where required assist Site Superintendent with switching and electrical permit requirements and job safety assessment
Requirements
- Certification 4 in WHS (Work Health & Safety) - essential
- Computer skills Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Electrical background and or higher preferred certification in electrical safety or a related field will be an advantage
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Prior industry experience
- White Card
- SA drivers license and own car
