We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our client as the Health & Safety Superintendent supporting Copper South Australia (CuSA) Major Projects. This role will provide Health, Safety, and Security support for the Smelter and Refinery Expansion Project in study and execution phases. The role as a Health & Safety Superintendent will provide leadership, coaching, and strategic direction as a subject matter expert to key stakeholders for the SRE Project.

About the role but not limited too:
- Build capability within CuSA Project leaders and key contracting partners to enable the desired health and safety culture and enact health and safety risk management and compliance requirements.
- Review project design specification to ensure health and safety risks and controls are identified and captured within the Project design.
- Support the field leadership program with the project team in the Major Projects portfolio.
- Deliver coaching for line management on the quality and effectiveness of health and safety risk assessments, event investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure provision of technical expertise and delivery of health and safety requirements for the project and key contracting partners.
- Provide health and safety leadership, support, and technical guidance for the SRE Project team.
- Develop and deliver relevant health and safety content for upskilling of project owner’s teams and contractor personnel.
- Facilitate the communication between work groups to ensure consistency in health and safety systems, processes, procedures, and goals.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Strong communication and engagement skills and an ability to adapt to suit target audience.
- Experience working with projects and studies is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver team results and meet deadlines.
- Be confident to identify and lead change through vision setting, empowerment, drive and effective execution of change management processes.
- Ability to engage build trustful relationships and work effectively with both senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage contractors and review, critically analyse and challenge contractor health and safety performance.
Please note that this role is based in Adelaide with occasional travel to Olympic Dam and Brisbane.
