Health Information Services Manager - Brisbane/Northern Suburbs
We are currently seeking a seasoned or adaptable Manager for Health Information Services (HIS) to join our client’s team with a Hospital in Brisbane and Northside locations. Reporting directly to the National Manager of HIS, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the department, focusing on the implementation of innovative systems, staff development, and service enhancement to effectively address the evolving needs of the hospital
Some key responsibilities:
... - Ensure HIS meets KPIs, manages budgets, and maintains coding accuracy.
- Oversee medical record scanning and associated tasks, lead and mentor department staff.
- Collaborate with other HIS heads for coder education and training.
- Partner with Patient Accounts for workflow efficiency and manage Medical Record Forms.
- Serve as Privacy Officer, collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure medico-legal requirements are met, and educate clinical staff on documentation.
To succeed in this position you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or equivalent, with preference for postgraduate qualifications.
- Demonstrated senior management or leadership experience, ideally in the Private Health sector.
- Innovative leader fostering positive work culture, understanding team needs and organisational impact.
- Proficient in clinical coding, capable of overseeing the process and staff, and committed to achieving accuracy.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and industry software, with a strong ability to adapt and learn.
- Proactive problem-solver with exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Track record of contributing to processes aimed at enhancing revenue cycles in Private Health Information Services.
- Ability to effectively collaborate, guide, and manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
- Mandatory requirement: Up-to-date 2024 flu vaccine and at least two COVID-19 vaccinations.
