Randstad is urgently seeking community recovery workers for an immediate start to assist in the response to Tropical Cyclone Alfred. This is an opportunity to provide immediate hands-on support to individuals and families impacted by disaster events.
About the Role
As an AO4 Community Recovery worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering practical assistance and emotional support to affected communities. Each day will bring different challenges, so flexibility, resilience, and adaptability are essential. You must be available to travel between various hub locations across the Gold Coast as needed and have access to your own transport.
Start date: Immediate
Duration: Until 4 April (extension possible, depending on disaster recovery needs)
Hourly Rate: AO4 Level – $58.02 per hour plus super
Key Responsibilities
... - High levels of community interaction, providing information, referrals, and support to individuals and families
- Provide practical assistance as needed, which may include general support tasks to help maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for the community
- Assist with various duties beyond core responsibilities to contribute to the overall recovery effort, ensuring all tasks, big or small, are completed as required
- Administrative support, including grant assessments and application processing
- Data entry and inbox management
- Customer service and community liaison

- Immediate availability – ability to start the next day, if required
- Flexibility – able to work mornings, evenings, and weekends, if needed
- Strong interpersonal skills – customer-facing experience preferred
- Emotional resilience – ability to support individuals during difficult times
- Adaptability – thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Attention to detail – able to process information accurately
- Must be able to undergo a criminal history check
