Randstad is currently working with a public sector client to find a GIS Spatial Analyst for an initial 6 month contract with potential of extension. This role is based in Brisbane city with WFH flexibility.
Key Duties:
- Undertake mapping, geographic information systems (GIS), spatial databases, and remote sensing technologies to collect, store, analyze, and present spatial data.
- Data Collection and Storage.
- Analysis of spatial data.
- Visualization to interpret complex information by presenting it in a visual format.
- Mapping: Create and work with digital maps. These maps can include layers of different kinds of data (e.g., terrain, population density, infrastructure) to support decision-making.
- Geospatial Decision-Making based on spatial factors, improving efficiency and outcomes.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
- Knowledge of and/or experience using GIS and spatial analysis tools, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online or QGIS.
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with regional ecosystems and related vegetation mapping products and remote sensing imagery.
- Knowledge of and/or ability to acquire knowledge of bushfire science and its application for land use planning and building decisions.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organized, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of and/or experience conducting data management and analysis, creating scripted workflows.
