• Undertake mapping, geographic information systems (GIS), spatial databases, and remote sensing technologies to collect, store, analyze, and present spatial data.
• Data Collection and Storage.
• Analysis of spatial data.
• Visualization to interpret complex information by presenting it in a visual format.
• Mapping: Create and work with digital maps. These maps can include layers of different kinds of data (e.g., terrain, population density, infrastructure) to support decision-making.
• Geospatial Decision-Making based on spatial factors, improving efficiency and outcomes.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

• Knowledge of and/or experience using GIS and spatial analysis tools, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online or QGIS.
• Knowledge of and/or experience working with regional ecosystems and related vegetation mapping products and remote sensing imagery.
• Knowledge of and/or ability to acquire knowledge of bushfire science and its application for land use planning and building decisions.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organized, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of and/or experience conducting data management and analysis, creating scripted workflows.
