Financial Crime Operations Manager – Institutional Banking
We are seeking an experienced Financial Crime Operations Manager to lead and manage a dynamic team within Institutional Banking. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of financial crime prevention activities, focusing on risk mitigation and ensuring the integrity of institutional banking services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of financial crime specialists, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations to foster team development.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimise financial crime prevention and detection for institutional banking clients.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers and central divisional teams to strengthen customer due diligence processes and ensure alignment across functions.
- Drive performance management practices within the team, clearly defining roles and responsibilities to ensure consistent execution of objectives.
- Inspire and motivate team members, promoting ownership and alignment with the company’s vision, strategy, and business goals.
- Utilise Active Operations Management principles to drive operational excellence and achieve business outcomes.
- Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide decision-making and ensure optimal business performance.
- Design and implement remediation plans for areas of underperformance to enhance overall results.
- Lead a cohesive, integrated team across the organisation to resolve customer concerns and improve the customer experience.
- Promote a customer-centric approach through daily operational practices, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Cultivate key internal stakeholder relationships to enhance service delivery and overall customer experience.
- Contribute to the creation of service level agreements (SLAs) with service providers and business partners.
- Ensure a safe and compliant working environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting incidents.
- Lead compliance initiatives, including participation in risk governance activities, to ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
- Maintain and update the Business Continuity Plan/Business Impact Analysis to restore operational functionality during incidents.
- Manage and update risk profiles to ensure the identification and mitigation of potential risks.
- Actively contribute to process improvements aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Provide subject matter expertise on relevant projects and initiatives, ensuring accurate and effective process management documentation across all team functions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in institutional banking, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record in team management and financial crime operations within institutional banking or a similar financial services environment.
- In-depth understanding of financial crime typologies, particularly in trade finance, foreign exchange, and corporate lending.
- Strong knowledge of Corporate and Institutional Banking products and services, along with financial crime regulations and compliance requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of business processes, support systems, and operational tools.
- Ability to use business metrics to drive performance and enhance operational efficiency.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders.
