About the Opportunity / Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to a supportive and nurturing Manager. This role will involve tasks such as purchase & demand planning, operations, reporting, financial analysis & control:
- Managing and coordinating the purchasing of goods, materials, or services
- Raise, create, monitor, and expedite (as needed) purchase orders
- Liaise with depots and warehouse to ensure goods receipts are reflected in the General Ledger and Warehouse Management systems
- Create, update and provide an accurate and timing forecast for inventory based on purchasing volume, production volume consumption and other shrinkage loss
- Assess viability and priority of investment decisions
- Improve the overall financial performance of operations through the implementation of improvement initiatives relating to business targets
- Prepare, analyze and benchmark financial and operational data relating to improve the overall financial performance of operations
- Provide undisputed facts and analysis on business performance
- Develop in depth understanding of historic, current and future business performance
- Using sound analysis, develop recommendations and appropriate financial strategies to support operational improvement initiatives
- Develop reporting of business performance, appropriate to operations
- Define and maintain critical KPI’s in support of strategy
- Connect reporting across the business and ensure consistency of KPI’s
- Seek to improve relevance and use of information
- Review and finalization of the monthly business reporting through the provision of reconciliation of key items (e.g. Inventory
- Manage business initiatives with detailed review against budgets and/or targets
- Ensure the Operations Leadership team are well supported to understand their P&L and work with them to improve processes that impact on the accuracy and completeness of their P&L
- Develop strong working relationships with the Operations Leadership team and store teams
- Partner with business support functions to provide strategic commercial analysis of initiatives
Ideal Profile
To contribute their valuable knowledge and experience within the Accounting function in stock accounting, inventory and purchasing would be ideal but not mandatory:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related
- 2-5 years working experience
- CA/CPA qualified or part qualified
- Demonstrated proficiency in understanding of GAAP
- Demonstrated working knowledge of FASB and financial accounting standards
- Familiarity working with large ERP systems - Reckon would be advantageous
- Advanced Excel skills
Benefits
- 3 months temporary to permanent position - open to someone with short notice period
- $50 - $62 per hour + Super (Based on experience)
