As the Finance Manager, you’ll be the strategic financial lead – guiding a small, capable team while overseeing end-to-end financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and governance.
You’ll work closely with the Department of Treasury and Finance, external service providers, and cross-agency partners, providing the leadership and technical expertise needed to drive high standards in public sector finance.
This is a position where your knowledge, professionalism, and leadership will directly contribute to operational excellence and impactful delivery across programs and services.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading a dedicated finance team, building capability, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Delivering accurate, timely budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis in line with public sector frameworks.
Developing best-practice processes, policies, and reporting tools to support clear and strategic decision-making.
Collaborating with executive leaders on key submissions, including business cases, budget bids, and Cabinet papers.
Managing critical financial relationships and statutory requirements, including liaison with Shared Services SA, DTF, and auditors.
Supporting performance and accountability through robust reporting to Risk & Audit Committees and parliamentary forums.
About You
You're an experienced finance professional who thrives in complex, stakeholder-rich environments. You bring a strong public sector lens, an eye for accuracy, and a collaborative leadership style that brings the best out of people and processes.
Your ability to interpret financials, communicate confidently with executives, and apply sound judgement in high-trust environments will set you apart.

Have a strong grounding in government financial management, reporting, and compliance frameworks.

Enjoy solving problems, building systems, and driving performance.
Are tertiary-qualified in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (CPA/CA membership highly regarded).
