... About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations and Workplace Advisor to join a dynamic team within the Victorian Public Service. This role is pivotal in providing expert advice and case management on workplace matters, including grievances, serious misconduct, and performance concerns.
You will be a trusted point of contact for staff disclosures and complaints, ensuring best-practice approaches are applied to resolve issues effectively. Your expertise in mediation, stakeholder management, and VPS policies will be key to fostering a positive and compliant workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for staff grievances, complaints, and disclosures.
- Manage complex case investigations from end to end, addressing inappropriate behaviour, serious misconduct, and workplace disputes.
- Advise on best-practice employee relations strategies, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies.
- Support and guide managers in implementing performance improvement plans.
- Provide regular updates and status reports on ongoing cases.
- Lead mediation efforts to resolve relationship disputes and foster positive workplace relationships.
- Influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels to drive fair and effective outcomes.
Key Selection Criteria
- HR Expertise: Proven experience in employee and industrial relations, with a strong focus on case management and workplace investigations.
- VPS Knowledge: Mandatory experience working within the Victorian Public Service.
- Legislative Understanding: In-depth knowledge of employee relations legislation and the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2024.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to negotiate and influence staff at all levels.
- Problem-Solving & Mediation: Skilled in resolving workplace disputes and leading mediation processes.
