Randstad's client is working on a significant program that will enhance Defence capabilities. We are seeking an RF/E3 Engineer to join a skilled team based in Brisbane or Melbourne
This position sits within the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team, which provides technical leadership across various project elements. The role focuses on electromagnetic compatibility and RF systems and requires a strong understanding of engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with internal teams and stakeholders to support project goals.
- Provide technical advice to program leaders and product teams.
- Assist in RF/E3 design, analysis, and testing activities.
- Contribute to planning and execution of RF/E3 projects.
- Operate with autonomy to deliver successful outcomes.
- Some domestic travel may be required for testing and related activities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support testing and verification of EMI/EMC requirements.
- Help develop and maintain Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Control Plans (E3CP), test procedures, and reports.
- Contribute to E3 testing methodologies, plans, and execution strategies.
- Assist in EMI/EMC analysis, ensuring system safety and compatibility.
- Review supplier data and design drawings for compliance with EMI/EMC standards.
- Participate in EMI/EMC testing across lab and operational environments.
- Conduct RF assessments, including antenna and system performance reviews.
- Support TEMPEST requirements in collaboration with customer agencies.
- Contribute to an inclusive and forward-thinking team culture.
- Assist in developing future technology strategies.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in RF/E3 engineering, including exposure to industry standards.
- Knowledge of MIL standards ideal
- Familiarity with RF systems, communications link analysis, and testing methods.
- Experience with EMI and RF testing, troubleshooting, and use of testing equipment.
- Desirable Experience:
- Understanding of military and/or EMC test procedures.
- Knowledge of RF safety guidelines.
- RPEQ accreditation or Chartered Engineer Status.
- A current Australian Government Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
