We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director - Physical Security Practitioner to join our Clients team. This key leadership position is integral to ensuring the safety and security of our people, assets, and information. As part of the Branch Leadership Team, you will be responsible for managing people, programs, and relationships across a wide range of activities and stakeholders.
Working under the broad direction of the Director, you will have significant responsibility for advising on and delivering the Physical Security work program. This includes managing security risks, overseeing physical security measures, and ensuring that performance targets are met. You will also support the development of strategic plans, business cases, and improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and manage physical security risks to ensure a safe and secure environment for personnel, contractors, clients, and the public.
- Oversee the development and implementation of security plans, procedures, and programs.
- Manage physical security measures and access controls to protect facilities, information, and physical assets.
- Provide leadership and direction to security contractors, including liaising with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, emergency services, and industry specialists.
- Support the Director in coordinating and conducting security reviews and preparing security reports for committees.
- Advise on protective security and security risk management arrangements across the agency.
- Monitor security systems to ensure effective functioning and identify security risks.
- Ensure security requirements are embedded in business continuity plans, fraud control, and other related initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams and programs.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in physical security, risk management, and security systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and oversee the implementation of security measures.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety, emergency services coordination, and community engagement.
- Ability to work with a considerable degree of independence and under broad direction.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in physical security and risk management roles.
- Experience managing security contractors and overseeing physical security systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Previous experience working with government security bodies and stakeholders is highly desirable.
- NV1 Clearance is required
