About the Centre
Our client is located in the Swan Hill Rural City area, Victoria. The centre will provide the community with funded Three-Year-Old and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs. The centre runs two different groups throughout the week. The service is part of a larger organisation of over 250 early childhood professionals working across almost 40 kindergartens.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced early childhood teacher to lead a team of three educators to provide an engaging and educational program for Three-Year-Old and Four-Year-Old children. This role will pay to the VECTEA 2020 award and is 34.75 hours per week. The sessions run 8am-430pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Non-contact hours are flexible but must be completed on site. The role also has a $21,000 incentive for those who are eligible.
Key duties will include:
- ensuring effective delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care for all children, guided by evidence-informed contemporary pedagogy and practice
- leading the planning and programming process in collaboration with other educators to maintain the centre’s educational program and philosophy, ensuring all practices align with national standards and regulations
- collaborating with the management team to model pedagogical practices that align with the educational philosophy of the service, fosters a positive work culture through mentoring educators, and actively engages with families to cultivate a supportive environment
- ensuring the centre meets safety and compliance standards
About you:
- completed Early Childhood teacher qualification (or ACECQA equivalent) and valid VIT registration
- sound understanding of the EYLF and good early childhood practices
- experience working towards (and achieving) targets as well as meeting safety and compliance standards
- strong communication skills with children, families, the community and the team within the centre
- ability to work within a flexible and changing environment
- willing to create and support a culture of collaboration by building effective relationships
- able to demonstrate the values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights
