Our client is seeking a Childcare Centre Coordinator for our Tiwi Islands Childcare Centre. Overview:
The Tiwi Islands Childcare Centre provides educational childcare services that support the developmental needs of children, incorporating cultural, physical, social, emotional, language, and learning aspects. Our program is grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework and adheres to the National Quality Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Childcare Centre Coordinator, you will:
- Lead the service operations, supporting, mentoring, and developing staff to provide a high-quality learning environment.
- Foster strong relationships with children and their families, and engage with the community to increase service utilization.
- Oversee administrative requirements, including Qik Kids, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Develop and implement educational programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Model reflective teaching practices and educational leadership.
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and informative environment for families.
- Engage in supervision, evaluation, and continuous improvement activities.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build professional relationships with clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Strengthen partnerships with local services and community groups.
Safeguarding Children:
You will uphold and implement CatholicCare NT's Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy to ensure the safety and well-being of children. You must report any concerns related to child abuse or neglect in accordance with our policy.
Selection Criteria:
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
- Experience in leading the operations of an approved childcare service.
- Experience in mentoring and developing an indigenous workforce.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people in a remote Aboriginal community.

Work Conditions:
This role is based in Tiwi Islands, located approximately 80km north of Darwin. You will be required to live on the Tiwi Islands. Travel assistance and relocation will be discussed and provided.
Special Conditions:
- Australian Citizenship or unlimited work rights in Australia.
- Satisfactory criminal history check
- Valid Ochre Card required prior to employment.
- If you have lived overseas for 12 months or more in the last 10 years, an International Criminal History Check will be required.
