We are currently seeking a Skilled Diesel Mechanic to join a leading rail company in Southern Tasmania on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable team maintaining and servicing locomotives and other rail-related equipment.

What’s on offer:

• Temporary role with full-time hours + Overtime
• 4/3 roster with the option to work on Fridays/Saturday
• Competitive hourly rate + penalties

• Full times hours with the potential to go full time

Role responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel trains and rail support equipment
• Identify mechanical faults and perform necessary repairs to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Maintain accurate service records and comply with industry safety and quality standards

About you:

• Trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic or similar
• Previous experience with heavy diesel engines, ideally in rail, transport, or similar industries
• First Aid certificate
• Demonstrated trade assistance experience (If not qualified)
• Current drivers licence
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team
• Strong commitment to safety and reliability
