Data Migration Delivery Lead (6-Month Contract)
Location: Melbourne CBD
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Rate: Approx $900 per day inc super (or + GST)
Overview:
Our client is seeking a Data Migration Delivery Lead with experience managing large-scale data migration projects. In this contract role, you will oversee the migration of over 1 million records from SAP and 200K records from a white-label third-party platform into their GCP platform. The role will focus on coordinating internal and external stakeholders, managing vendors, and ensuring the smooth delivery of the migration project. The ideal candidate will have experience leading similar large migrations, with strong communication and engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of the data migration project, including the migration of customer data from SAP and third-party platforms into GCP.
- Oversee data cleansing efforts to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data being migrated.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and third-party service providers, ensuring the alignment of resources and timelines.
- Coordinate with internal technical teams to ensure project milestones are achieved and migration processes are executed smoothly.
- Provide regular progress updates to key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams.
- Resolve any issues or roadblocks that arise during the migration process, ensuring minimal disruption to the overall timeline.
- Lead meetings and discussions to facilitate communication between business and technical teams.
- Manage the project timeline, ensuring that data migration is completed on schedule.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is maintained throughout the delivery process.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in managing multiple large-scale data migration projects, including managing multiple stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and delivery management skills, with the ability to manage internal and external teams.
- Experience in vendor management, including working with third-party vendors to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Strong communication and engagement skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and SAP platforms, with a focus on data migration processes.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues during the migration process.
- Experience in data cleansing and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex projects.
Requirements:
- Multiple years experience RECENTLY in data migration project delivery or related roles, with a focus on large-scale migrations.
- Proven track record in leading and delivering data migration projects from start to finish.
- Experience in managing both technical and non-technical aspects of data migration projects.
- Ability to manage and coordinate teams, ensuring efficient execution and timely delivery of the migration.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, including managing vendors and internal teams.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience with GCP and SAP is highly desirable.
