Randstad Data are currently on the hunt for a fantastic Database Administrator to join a high performing team on a 6-month initial contract. This role is to work across multiple projects as well as supporting operational DBA tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and analytical skills, experience in cloud migration to Azure Database platforms, SSIS, SSRS, Linux, Oracle Exadata and database.
Responsibilities:
- Migration Projects: Work with project teams to plan and implement technical solutions that meet business requirements. Analyse and documents current state environments and design technical requirements for future state environments.
- Database Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle and SQL databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Backup and Recovery: Perform require database backup and recovery activities as requested.
- Testing: Assist in the development and execution of test plans to ensure quality and functionality.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive information and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, the application support team, and other stakeholders to support database-related activities and projects.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation of database configurations and procedures as required to support projects and operations.
Necessary Skills:
- Proven experience as a DBA with a strong background in Oracle Exadata and SQL databases.
- Experience with migration of SSRS and SSIS packages.
- Experience with migration of Databases to cloud (MS Azure), including discovery and profiling of applications and databases and migration to managed database services.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, data guard and SQL server always on HA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Prior experience in the Australian utilities sector is a plus.
