Randstad are currently working with an exciting client to find a Gold Coast based Data Migration Engineer for an initial contract until September 2025. The Data Migration Engineer will be part of the data engineering team and dedicated to the migration of data products and ETL processes to the Advanced Data Platform (ADP). The role will be responsible for executing migration from an on-premise SQL Server data platform to Snowflake instance on AWS. This will include, but not limited to, technical implementation of data assets and associated pipelines in ADP, configuration and administration of data platforms to keep the platforms functioning, assessment and recommendation of best practices to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

Provide a timely, robust well engineered solution with minimal technical direction and supervision. Apply corporate best practices for Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) and data processes, ensuring quality and consistency across all development, testing and production environments. Engage with stakeholders to elicit business requirements, facilitate data processes and provide assurance on data platform performance, security and sustainability.
Research new technology and techniques, apply innovative solutions and provide high level technical advice on strategic directions for data and analytics where required.
Provide advice on data architecture best practice and work with business analysts to deliver fit for purpose solutions, including data marts.
Contribute to continuous improvement of data platforms including analysis of future state requirements.
Evaluate and undertake impact analysis on design options and assess and manage associated risks.
Manage data platform configuration, basic administration and technical details to keep the platform functioning.
Develop and maintain appropriate design and operational support documentation for a complex ETL system.
Work collaboratively and communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

5+ Years’ experience in data warehousing and pipelines, including SQL ETL, is required.
Previous experience with AWS and Snowflake services are required.
Previous experience executing a cloud migration of a data warehouse is preferred.
Ability to work onsite at the Gold Coast.
