My client is a Government organisation who are currently undertaking an enterprise wide digital transformation and
as such have an immediate requirement for a Data Analyst for an initial 6 month period. IThe Data Analyst will have strong skills and experience around Power BI, SQL and Azure, coming on board to offer their expertise and contribute to ensureing the successful integration of these platforms across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Power BI Development & Reporting:
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Connect and transform data from multiple sources to create meaningful business insights.
- Implement visuals to support business decision-making.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance in Power BI reports.
Data Migration & ETL Development:
- Plan, design, and execute data migration strategies for transitioning data across different platforms.
- Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SQL and other data tools to ensure clean and structured data migration.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring integrity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Work with stakeholders to understand data mapping, transformation rules, and migration requirements.
SQL Development & Database Management:
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data extraction and transformation.
- Perform data validation and reconciliation post-migration to ensure successful data transfer.
- Manage database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimisation.
- Collaborate with database administrators and developers to ensure efficient data integration.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Strong SQL development skills (T-SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, indexes).
- Experience with data migration and ETL processes (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Talend, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in Power BI (Power Query, data modelling, report development).
- Familiarity with cloud-based databases and data warehouses (Azure SQL,Snowflake, etc.).
- Experience with data cleansing, validation, and transformation best practices.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and ability to translate technical data into business insights.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
