Randstad Digital is currently working with one of Queensland's largest employers to find a CSOC Vulnerability Management Administrator for a 12-month contract with the strong chance of extension past that point. This role is based in Brisbane’s CBD and with working from home flexibility 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and Prioritise Vulnerabilities: Conduct regular vulnerability scans, analyse results, and assess the criticality of identified vulnerabilities to ensure the most significant risks are addressed promptly.
- Coordinate Remediation Efforts: Engage and collaborate with system and service owners across IT and business teams to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated in a timely and effective manner.
- Administer Vulnerability Management Systems: Manage and maintain tools and systems used for vulnerability identification, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring their effectiveness and alignment with security policies.
- Develop and Communicate Reports: Generate detailed reports on vulnerabilities, remediation progress, and risk levels for technical teams, business stakeholders, and executives.
- Support Compliance: Ensure systems comply with security best practices and regulatory requirements by maintaining a comprehensive inventory of system configurations and monitoring remediation progress.
- Stay Proactive: Monitor emerging threats and vulnerabilities, recommending and coordinating proactive measures to reduce potential risks.
- Incident Support: Provide assistance to the Cyber Security Operations (CSOC) team in incident response efforts and audits, as required.
Necessary Skills:
- Technical Expertise: A solid background in system administration (Windows, Linux, network devices, cloud platforms) and understanding of how to navigate complex technical environments.
- Cybersecurity Focus: Demonstrated experience in vulnerability management, with knowledge of tools such as Tenable, Qualys, or Rapid7, and the ability to interpret scan results.
- Coordination Skills: Demonstrated experience and success in building relationships and working with diverse stakeholders, including system and service owners, to achieve shared security goals.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess vulnerability data critically and translate technical findings into actionable steps for resolution.
- Communication Proficiency: Experience and demonstrated ability to articulate technical details and risk implications clearly to both technical teams and business leaders.
