The Role:
A skilled Credit Risk Analyst is needed for a 3-month contract. This role involves assessing the creditworthiness of customers, analysing financial data, and identifying potential risks to help manage the company’s credit exposure. Close collaboration with internal teams and management is required to ensure credit policies are followed and risks are identified and mitigated.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Identify gaps within credit applications that expose the business, and request further documentation from sales teams.
- Liaise with stakeholders to mitigate current and future risks.
- Ensure applications are managed within service level agreements and communicate professionally with customers.
- Actively identify process improvements by providing examples of trending issues.
- Identify trends related to Non-Payment and fraud to inform process improvements.
- Resolve all call queries at the first point of contact to avoid double handling.
- Assess customer’s financials, perform trend analysis, and resource credit bureau files to review key risk indicators of a company.
To be successful, you will have:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar Credit Risk Analyst role.
- Excellent understanding of credit risk assessment practices and tools.
- Ability to develop a credit/fraud risk evaluation accurately and efficiently, ensuring best business practices are applied.
- Capability to make decisions based on an appropriate risk assessment of all factors of customer’s credit application, on a case-by-case basis.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills in both commercial and consumer environments, with a focus on commercial risk.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- A Certificate IV in Credit Management or a relevant tertiary qualification.
- An excellent understanding of, or an ability to quickly gain, knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Understanding of trends in the Australian fraud and credit risk environments.
- Telecommunications or financial services/banking backgrounds preferred.
