Our client, a large reputable organisation are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Credit Manager to join their finance team and play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving their credit and collections processes.
About the Role:
As Credit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of credit and collections, ensuring timely payments, minimising bad debt, and supporting the company's financial health. You will develop and implement credit policies, manage customer credit risk, and lead a team to achieve departmental goals.
Responsibilities:
- Credit Policy & Risk Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit policies and procedures.
- Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers, establishing credit limits.
- Monitor customer payment performance and identify potential risks.
- Analyse financial statements and credit reports to assess credit risk.
- Collections Management:
- Oversee the collections process, ensuring timely and effective collection of outstanding receivables.
- Develop and implement collection strategies to minimise bad debt.
- Manage relationships with collection agencies and legal counsel when necessary.
- Resolve customer disputes and negotiate payment plans.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit and collections professionals.
- Set performance goals and monitor team performance.
- Provide training and guidance to team members.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyse credit and collections reports, providing insights to management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on aging receivables and bad debt.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant credit and collections laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in credit and collections management.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing credit policies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and financial analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of credit and collections laws and regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel skills
