An exciting opportunity for an experienced Cost Accountant to join a fast growing manufacturing organisation in Miranda. This role focuses on internal financial analysis to help understand and manage company expenses, ultimately contributing to improved profitability.

Cost Analysis & Efficiency:

- Analyst manufacturing costs (direct materials, direct labour, and manufacturing overhead).
- Compare standard costs to actual costs and identify variances, investigating the reasons for differences.
- Create detailed reports and presentations on cost performance, including variances and potential cost-saving opportunities.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze sales, financial, and operational data to provide actionable insights for business performance.
- Create and maintain regular reports on financial performance, sales trends, and key business metrics.
- Prepare forecasts, budgets, and monthly performance reports for management.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and costs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Work with inventory management systems (Netstock) to track and control inventory.
- Netstock Management – accountable for software vendor relationship, system integrity, expertise and training
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
- extract, analyse and relay data to key stakeholders
- Provide insights into financial trends, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to facilitate strategic planning.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and payments accurately and on time
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide relief backup to staff in finance and administration.
- Assist with internal audits and maintain accurate cost records.
- Drive process improvements and collaborate with teams to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
About You:
- Experience with Cost Accounting in a manufacturing organisation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across the business.
- Proven track record of process improvement and implementation.
- Experience in assisting with month end and financial reporting
- Strong system experience, Netstock or Xero knowledge is desirable
