We're currently seeking an experienced Content Editor to join a Government Department on a contract basis until June 2025. As Content Editor you'll play a pivotal role in transforming legacy intranet and SharePoint sites into a modern enterprise Intranet and SharePoint Online platform. You'll collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and lead the coordination and guidance of content creation.
What You Will Do:
- Participate in migrating content from the Department's current intranet to SharePoint Online Modern.
- Work with Content Owners to review, edit, and adapt existing content to meet new style, template, accessibility standards, and Information Architecture.
- Edit and build migrated or new pages in SharePoint Online, using web parts and templates according to the style guide.
- Collaborate with intranet team members, content creators, SMEs, and IT professionals to coordinate content migration, page editing, and site creation.
- Control and assist with mapping content from old to new architecture, document the final mapping, obtain sign-off, and direct business on content clean-up tasks.
What You Need to Apply for This Role:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, with experience in SharePoint content management systems.
- Experience in editing and page layout for web, focusing on intranets, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
- Ability to work with content owners to create content for new pages, ensuring alignment with future state modern enterprise Intranet and SharePoint platforms.
- Strong understanding of best practices for digital content, especially regarding accessibility and user experience standards.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in developing and delivering intranet content that adheres to accessibility, style guide, and brand standards.
- Understanding of information architectures (IA) and site structures to facilitate content migration.
- Experience in content migration projects within an agile framework.
- Ability to support training for content authors on the modern enterprise Intranet and SharePoint platform.
- Collaborate with Senior Testers to guide business areas in user acceptance testing of migrated content across websites and intranets.
