Do you possess first class stakeholder engagement skills?
Is connecting stakeholders and identifying communication strategies for engagement and to help “bridge the gap” is your best asset, then this is the role you’ve been waiting for!
Working with the Department of Primary Industries and Regions, you will be a primary point of contact between the SA Riverland community, fruit growing industries and PIRSA and play a critical role in working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to build local engagement and effectively communicate fruit fly prevention actions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing and evaluating effective community engagement strategies as they relate to fruit fly and the SA Riverland community
- Strengthening and expanding partnerships with community organisations and other identified points of contact (such as schools), through engagement with existing local networks and forums
- Identifying and managing strategic issues and risks that can impact on reputation and trust, and implement proactive strategies to achieve positive outcomes
- Managing conflicting views and where possible reaching agreed outcomes that meet the needs of both industry and the department
- Developing an annual work plan, with priority results and outcomes and establishing methods for measurement and feedback
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to build shared understanding and to support effective implementation of fruit fly prevention and eradication goals and activities
To be considered you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and qualities:
- Ability to demonstrate proven experience in a role with extensive stakeholder engagement
- An IAP2 Certificate in Engagement or experience with, and/or a tertiary qualification in Communications or a related field is desirable
- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive is essential
- Out of hours work and intrastate travel will be required
