Hiring: Climbing Arborists – Ongoing Roles
We’re looking for two experienced Climbing Arborists to join our team ASAP for ongoing work in North Ryde in a role that will take you to new heights and places you've never seen.
Sometimes called a Tree Doctor, you will answer the call to go out to new places across the region making much needed repairs that will assist our community to remain safe.

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 6:45 AM – 3:25 PM (overtime available on Fridays)
Pay Rate: $45–$49/hr (depending on experience)
The right candidate will have experience climbing the trees to perform the work required. Sometimes going 30 metres in the air, you will need to have a love of heights and a high awareness of the safety measures involved in this role. This is a good opportunity for someone who can take responsibility as you will play a key role in planning and scheduling work, leading a team, and at times monitoring contractors and other service providers to deliver arborist services across the Ryde region. You will also provide technical expertise and specialist advice to mentor and coach new arborists, as well as train less experienced team members in best practices.
The role:
- Significant experience as an arborist with proven tree climbing skills
- Experience leading, coordinating, and directing a small team
- Ability to assist in planning and scheduling work
- Competency in monitoring contractors and service providers
- High level of competency using arborist plant and equipment (climbing gear, chainsaws, etc.)
- Ability to handle numeracy and record-keeping tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet
- Commitment to workplace safety at the highest level
- A team player who leads by example and promotes a positive company image
- Reliable, dependable, and ready to work
Requirements:
- Cert III in Arboriculture (AQF3) – Minimum Requirement
- Driver’s License & White Card (mandatory)
- Own climbing gear, chainsaw trousers, ropes & harness
Desirable Qualifications:
- Diploma in Arboriculture or similar qualification
- Electrical Awareness Certificate 5099
