About the Role
Randstad are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Civil Project Manager to lead the successful execution of a critical tailings dam wall raise project at our clients mining operation. This role requires a proven track record in managing complex civil engineering projects, particularly within the mining sector.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the overall project plan, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team of engineers, contractors, and specialists
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and engineering best practices
- Manage risks and issues effectively, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, regulatory bodies, and project team members
- Work closely with and management of the principal contractor and other key stakeholders ensuring project success
- Monitor project progress, track performance indicators, and deliver regular reports to stakeholders
- Manage contractual relationships with contractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to agreements and deadlines
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness
Person profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in managing complex civil engineering projects, particularly within the mining sector
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects on time, within budget, and to the required standards
- In-depth understanding of tailings dam design, construction, and management principles
- Thorough understanding of south australian mining legislation
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent computing skills
- Current C Class driver’s license
This 7 month contract role is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster ex Adelaide or Pt Augusta.
