Key Responsibilities:

- Review of contract documents including scope of works, specifications etc at tender stage.
- Develop lump sum pricing / bill of quantities on a range of civil, utility and infrastructure projects using first principle estimates and open market quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Risk management and safe construction techniques when developing construction methodologies and programs with construction team.
- Manage multiple tenders at any one time.
- Produce tenders from $1 million to $50 million.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions.
- Estimate and monitor the projects through the construction phase to handover.
- Assisting the Construction and Commercial Teams to identify and prepare variations and EOT’s in accordance with the head contract.
Key Experience Required:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Engineering.
- First principles estimating experience (mandatory)
- Proven track record with more than 5 years’ experience in Australia.
- Experience working on projects for and working with Government Agencies and Clients such as Sydney Water, RMS, Ausgrid and local councils.
- Ability to interpret drawings.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to work in isolation to meet deadlines.
- Excellent MS Excel skills with ability to construct MS Excel spreadsheets to suit relevant tenders.
Candidates must have extensive experience tendering on utilities projects in Australia using first principles estimates.
Candidates must be currently living in Australia along with Australian experience to be considered for this role.
