Building Surveyor – Victoria
We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to join our team in Victoria. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and approving building permit applications, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with relevant building legislation, codes, and regulations. You will work closely with builders, developers, and regulatory bodies to provide expert advice and support throughout the construction process.
As a Registered Building Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding public safety, ensuring structural integrity, and maintaining industry standards across a diverse range of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and approve building permit applications in compliance with regulations.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure construction meets approved plans and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2018, and the National Construction Code (NCC).
- Provide technical advice to clients, builders, and developers regarding compliance matters.
- Investigate building complaints, safety hazards, and non-compliance issues.
- Issue building notices, orders, and enforcement actions when required.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and liaise with local councils and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying.
- Registered Building Surveyor (Limited or Unlimited) with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA).
- Strong knowledge of building legislation, Australian Standards, and NCC requirements.
- Experience in building inspections, approvals, and compliance assessments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex regulations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Attention to detail and a high standard of report writing and documentation.
