Building Inspector – Victoria
We are seeking a skilled Building Inspector to join our team in Victoria. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting site inspections across residential, commercial, and industrial projects to ensure compliance with building regulations and safety standards. You will work closely with builders, developers, and other stakeholders to assess the quality of construction, identify defects, and ensure adherence to relevant codes and legislation.
Your key duties will include performing inspections, reviewing construction works for compliance with the Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2018, and the National Construction Code (NCC), and preparing detailed inspection reports. You will also identify potential safety hazards, non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions to maintain the highest standards of building safety.
To succeed in this role, you must have a Diploma of Building and Construction (CPC50220) or an Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying (CPC60121), with Registered Building Inspector status (Limited or Unlimited) with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA). Experience in site inspections, excellent knowledge of building codes, and a keen eye for detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess building safety and compliance.
- Review construction works to ensure adherence to building codes, legislation, and regulations.
- Identify and report defects, safety hazards, and non-compliance issues.
- Provide technical advice and solutions to contractors and builders.
- Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including developers, builders, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of construction projects to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma of Building and Construction (CPC50220) or Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying (CPC60121).
- Registered Building Inspector (Limited or Unlimited) with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA).
- Experience in site inspections and identifying non-compliance or safety hazards.
- Knowledge of the Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2018, and National Construction Code (NCC).
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to assess construction quality and compliance.
