We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager and Construction Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in the successful delivery of projects valued up to and above $25 million.
Purpose of the position:
As a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager you will provide essential support to the Project Manager in all aspects of project management, ensuring that project objectives are met with the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your project management skills and contribute to a variety of exciting commercial construction projects in the canberra region.
Key Responsibilities:
... - Provide direct support to the Project Manager in the day-to-day management of projects.
- Assist in the development, management, and updating of project programs and schedules.
- Contribute to the preparation, review, and distribution of tender and contract documentation.
- Assist with cost management activities, including variations, extension of time (EOT) claims, progress claims, and cost reporting.
- Manage project documentation, ensuring accurate and organised records.
- Ensure project compliance with plans, specifications, and relevant regulations.
- Support quality control processes and procedures to achieve defect-free project outcomes.
- Uphold the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) on-site, ensuring compliance with project management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Manage incident investigations and reporting in a timely manner.
- Assist in the management of subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety plans and project requirements.
- Contribute to project team training and inductions.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a strong foundation in construction principles and a desire to grow their career in project management. They will possess:
- A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Work Health and Safety, or a related field.
- 3-5 years local experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably on commercial projects.
(Site Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Senior Contracts Administrator, Foreman) - Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong commitment to work health and safety
- A solid understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and relevant legislation.
- Proficiency in Project Management software, and Microsoft Office Suite. (Jobpac, Procore, Acconex)
- Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship
- A proactive approach to safety and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Perks and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $200,000 + with additional benefits including vehicle/allowances and competitive employee benefits.
