We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Director to an Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service in Leeming. In this leadership role, you will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the service, ensuring high-quality care and education for children, and supporting a team of passionate educators. You will work closely with the Centre Director to maintain compliance, drive continuous improvement, and foster strong relationships with families and the community.
Support the Centre Director in managing the daily operations of the service.
Ensure compliance with Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and all relevant legislation.
Implement and uphold policies, procedures, and standards.
Monitor and support educator performance and professional development.
Ensure the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) is actioned and continuously improved.
Undertake additional duties as requested by the Centre Director or Management Committee.
Collaborate as part of the Leadership Team to drive decision-making and service development.
Provide guidance and mentorship to educators, ensuring best practices in childcare.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback to the Centre Director.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and the local community.
Ensure educators provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
Uphold the service philosophy, ensuring all interactions are respectful and inclusive.
Ensure that all family communications are conducted professionally and consistently.
Diploma (or higher) in Early Childhood Education, Outside School Hours Care, or a related field.
Previous leadership experience in a childcare or OSHC setting.
Strong knowledge of National Quality Framework (NQF) and My Time, Our Place framework.
Understanding of child safety regulations, compliance, and risk management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with families, children, and educators.
First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012), including CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training.
Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance.
Experience in mentoring and leading teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage service operations effectively.
Understanding of financial and administrative aspects of an OSHC service.
12-month maternity cover with long-term prospects for the right applicant.
40 hours per week with a monthly RDO (Rostered Day Off).
Initial split shift: Before and after school care 7-9am and 2pm – 6pm, with negotiation around the additional 2 hours of non-contact time daily.
Future flexibility: Hours can be negotiated down the track so that a split shift is not necessary.
Wage: Based on Children Services Award Level 5.4 – 6.2, depending on qualifications and experience.
