The Position
The Internal Communications Branch provides strategic communications advice to support the agency to deliver the scheme. It is responsible for development and implementation of multi-channel communications and engagement strategies to support key initiatives across the agency and for tailoring messaging to the right audience.
The APS6 Strategic Communications Officer is a team leadership position within the agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities. The role is required to provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team membership within the work area.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating exceptional organisation skills and high attention with all detail.
- Championing plain English and ensure all collateral is accessible and aligns with the agencies style and branding guidelines.
- Leading through example, serving as a trusted communications expert, helping key internal stakeholders and business partners deliver the objectives of each project.
- Drafting clear, concise and effective messaging for different audiences, including creation of talking points and speeches
- Contributing towards the development and delivery of different communications plans, progressing approvals and coordination of go-live collateral.
- Identifying and developing important internal stakeholder relationships, addressing and resolving any emerging challenges with stakeholders.
- Evaluating the impact of communications, identifying any future learnings and determining whether the identified objectives for each project have been achieved.
- Supporting team members with administration, technical and procedural tasks.
