About the Role
As an APS6 Senior Project Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Project Documentation & Reporting: Maintain crucial project documents, reporting dashboards, business cases, registers, and action item logs to track project progress and insights.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, capture, and regularly update risks and issues, ensuring they are effectively managed and reported to branch leadership.
- Project Scheduling: Maintain project schedules, monitor deadlines, and report potential delays to leadership.
- Special Projects & Process Improvement: Lead and support special projects as needed and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Support the planning and management of changes affecting agencystaff, participants, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Administrative & Meeting Support: Organise meetings, draft minutes, prepare email correspondence, and develop formal project communications.
Essential Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to interpret data, apply analytical thinking, and support practical solutions.
- Project Management & PMO Experience: Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, and reporting, with strong knowledge of risk, issue, and benefit management.
- Governance & Decision-Making: Sound judgment in prioritising tasks and guiding decision-making.
- Technology & Systems Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Word, Project, Visio, Excel, and PPM tools.
- Collaboration & Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in teams, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Desirable Criteria
- Systems Knowledge: Experience with SAP and Salesforce CRM.
- Process Improvement: Proven ability to enhance project frameworks and reporting.
- Government Experience: Knowledge of public sector governance and service delivery.
