About the Opportunity
APS6 Senior Internal Auditor 12-month contract with a strong possibility of renewal. This full-time position offers a flexible, hybrid work environment, ensuring a great work-life balance. While the role is based in Geelong, some in-office time is required. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to apply.
About the Role
The Audit and Assurance Branch provides independent and objective assurance and consulting to the Agency.
They provide a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organisation's governance, risk management and internal control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) Development: Create RACM and work programs for assessments, including process flowcharts to support key processes, associated risks, and controls according to the Agency's Internal Audit (IA) methodology.
- Assurance Assessment Activities: Perform assurance testing by interviewing, collecting, and examining evidence against engagement criteria in line with the Agency's IA methodology.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document evidential observations, link them to assessment objectives, and assist in wording audit findings/issues to improve governance, risk management, and internal controls.
- Internal Audit Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of internal audit reports outlining findings/issues and observations.
- Follow-up Activities: Conduct follow-up activities to evaluate the sufficiency of evidence for closing issues according to the Agency's IA methodology.
Requirements
- Australian Citizenship
- Auditing experience
- Experience with RACM
