APS6 Senior Communications Officer
12 month Labour Hire Contract
The Senior Communication Officer is responsible for supporting the Communication Manager to manage communication initiatives for the Preventive Health account. This role focuses on strategic planning, content development, coordination, and problem-solving.
Duties:
- Develop and implement evidence-based, comprehensive communication strategies.
- Manage content development for internal and external publications, such as newsletters and reports.
- Draft, review and edit communication materials for accuracy and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and training to junior staff.
- Demonstrate initiative in identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions.
Key Capabilities
...- Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven experience in the development of communication and marketing products for a range of channels.
- Experience in applying market research information to develop and implement marketing/communication strategies and campaigns.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically on a broad range of issues applying a consumer perspective.
- Experience liaising with external suppliers for campaign and non-campaign activities, including public relations activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in managing timelines, budgets, procurement and contract management of communication activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field and/or minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in communication.
