As an APS6 Project Officer, you will play a key role in project planning, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Service Design Division. Your work will contribute to the development of clear, consistent processes and guidance that enhance transparency and service delivery.
About the Role:
The APS6 Project Officer will be responsible for developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework. They will provide specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders. Additionally, the Project Officer will perform independent research and analysis, including preparing draft reports on relevant project activities. They will coordinate regular project reporting, including status updates and exception reports, and prepare draft written material, including business cases, plans, executive briefs, and corporate documentation. Other key responsibilities include monitoring project budgets, reviewing and reporting on expenditure, assisting with procurement and contract management, identifying and assisting with the management of project risks, issues, and benefits, and contributing to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience supporting a team in a fast-paced, changing, and complex environment – a ‘can-do’ attitude.Experience supporting change, projects, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience coordinating workshops, engagement/co-design activities, and communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Jira or similar project management tools, SharePoint document management and publishing.
- Ability to develop moderately complex templates, tools, and procedure/process documentation.
- Strong organisational skills, including managing multiple calendars.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in disability, social services, or the public sector.
- Familiarity with digital design/process tools such as Figma, Creately, Miro, or Mural.
