Are you a detail-oriented finance professional seeking a role where you can make a direct impact? This role provides the opportunity to lead financial operations and procurement activities within a Federal Government agency, supporting improved outcomes for staff and stakeholders.
You will play a key role in accounts payable and financial management processes while driving improvements in procurement and sourcing. This role will also contribute to strategic planning and business improvement initiatives within the Office of Agency Accessibility and Inclusion (OAAI).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, acquittals, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Deliver end-of-month and year-end financial processes, including reporting and general ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain vendor master data, including domestic and international payment processing.
- Provide procurement services including sourcing, purchasing, and contract management to support staff with disability in the workplace.
- Prioritise governance and quality assurance to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Lead financial management of staff supports, month-end reporting, and OAAI budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), Procurement Policy, and Agency Accountable Authority Instructions (AAIs).
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive business improvements and system enhancements.
- Provide training and support to stakeholders to enhance financial literacy and promote operational efficiency.
- Work independently or under limited guidance to anticipate challenges and contribute to innovative solutions.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in accounts payable and financial operations.
- Demonstrated experience procuring goods and services in line with government procurement policies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly.
- Australian Citizenship (federal government requirement)
Desirable Criteria:
- Lived experience with disability.
- Experience in contract management and procurement systems.
- Familiarity with finance systems and reporting tools (SAP, Finance One, or similar).
- A qualification (or current study) in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field is desirable.
