The Strategy Branch provides strategic advice to business areas and the Agency senior executive. Our work supports informed decision-making and helps prioritise initiatives that improve the scheme and outcomes for participants. We ensure alignment to Agency priorities and deliver insights and solutions through a flexible, collaborative approach with stakeholders.
About the Role
As an APS5 Strategy Officer, you will support the delivery of key strategy projects and initiatives. This includes conducting research and analysis, preparing strategic content, and supporting the development of project plans and communications. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making and ensure the successful delivery of project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and develop structured insights and recommendations to address complex problems within strategic projects.
- Draft materials for internal and external stakeholders, clearly communicating perspectives, recommendations, and implications for the Agency.
- Present recommendations and facilitate discussions with a range of Agency stakeholders and leadership.
- Assist with regular strategy reporting, including status updates and exception reports.
- Support the development and management of project plans and schedules in line with the Agency’s project management framework.
- Provide event and stakeholder support including meeting coordination, communication product development, and minute-taking.
- Conduct desktop research and analysis (qualitative and quantitative) to support strategic deliverables.
Essential Criteria
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop structured insights and recommendations to solve complex problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience drafting materials for key stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with sound judgement and the ability to interpret policy and legislative frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, and reporting within a structured framework.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
